The General Insurance Code of Practice outlines certain minimum standards of service that you should expect from insurers that have adopted the Code. The standards covered by the Code include standards concerning enquiries about, buying and renewing insurance, claims handling and complaints handling. We have adopted the Code and we are committed to complying with it.

On 1 November 2018, the role and responsibilities of the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) will be taken over by the new Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). From this date, all references in the General Insurance Code of Practice 2014 to FOS will instead refer to AFCA.
